Detroit, Mich.— The Michigan Teamsters Joint Council 43 has announced its endorsement of M.L. Elrick for Detroit City Council in District 4.

In announcing the union’s endorsement, Teamsters Joint Council 43 President Greg Nowak issued the following statement:

“Elrick’s passionate, dedicated and effective background in helping [represent] union members, combined with his decades-long strong commitment to the residents of Detroit, are the primary reasons we have emphatically endorsed M.L. Elrick for Detroit City Council.”

Michigan Teamsters Joint Council 43 represents more than 65,000 members across 13 affiliated local unions in a variety of diverse private and public sector jobs. As a union negotiator for the Newspaper Guild of Detroit, Elrick served on joint bargaining committees with his Teamsters brothers and sisters.

“I’m grateful for the endorsement of Teamsters Joint Council 43, which is one of the most coveted endorsements in Michigan,” Elrick said. “Together, we’ll continue to fight for the rights of working people, and to bring honest change to Detroit politics.”
